At Cranbourne Family Chiropractic and Wellness Centre we often observe emotional pain behind physical pain and symptoms.
Here’s an example. A middle aged lady presents with low back pain of not apparent cause. The pain is real and chronic however, she is confused as there appears to be no link to a physical injury or accident.
So what’s the deal.
On further inquiry she reports that she recently lost of dog of 20 yrs and this was incredibly traumatic.
This happened around the same time the back pain started.
This is a common occurrence in our practice. It’s no coincidence.
Dr. Linda Wilson, our resident Stress Therapist says “there is an emotional root to just about every physical symptom!”
This doesn’t mean you’re pain isn’t real, far from it.
What we’re talking about is the physical manifestation of emotional trauma or stress. This is how the body manages emotional stress.
Think about it! Stomach ulcers, heart attack, high blood pressure are all linked to emotional stress.
So what can you do?
At Cranbourne Family Chiropractic and Wellness Centre our focus is exactly this. We understand stress is not always physical and that counseling may not be the best option.
