Urinary Indicans Test.

At Cranbourne Family Chiropractic and Wellness Centre our Naturopaths offer a range of health checks and tests.

This particular test allows us to assess your levels of dysbiosis, SIBO and malabsorption states depending on the shade of the results.

Dr. Andrew Arnold says, ‘Dysbiosis is a term used to describe an internal imbalance of the good bacteria of the body.’

Our intestinal systems, which are comprised of the small and large intestines, break down food for our bodies to use as energy and helps remove wastes and toxins. In order for this to happen our intestinal systems are host to a wide variety of bacterial colonies which help the body to achieve this process.  Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when opportunistic bad bacteria take over as good bacterial stores dwindle.

This can affect the body’s absorption of food causing malabsorption of important vitamins, minerals, and fats, and this is where naturopaths can help.

Microorganisms are essential to help the body function at its optimal level. It is when this balance is disrupted by a modern diet of processed and sugary foods, excessive alcohol, antibiotic overuse, acid-blocking drugs (Nexium, Zantac), longterm stress, steroids, poor sleep and parasites that an overgrowth of bad bacteria and yeast can occur.

Once dysbiosis occurs it is extremely hard to restore the body’s balance.

Symptoms of dysbiosis may include,

  • Bloating
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Headaches
  • Acne
  • Bad Breath
  • Foggy brain
  • Thrush
  • Menstrual disturbances
  • Fatigue

If you think this may be a concern for you, call 59984554 to make an appointment for an internal bacterial health check which will include a Urinalysis test and pH assessment as well.
